Induced events

The Induced events feature is used to create reports on events which happened on the website after Promptchat was utilized with website visitors in one way or another.

For example: This is a great tool to measure the effectiveness of using the live chat software on your website. You can do this by setting up induced events. Let's say you want to check how many website visitors reached the checkout page or the newsletter sign up confirmation page etc.... after they have been assisted by a live chat operator. This is one example to highlight the use of measuring events induced by Promptchat.

Overview

The Induced events feature is used to create reports on events which happened on the website after Promptchat was utilized with website visitors in one way or another.

For example: This is a great tool to measure the effectiveness of using the live chat software on your website. You can do this by setting up induced events. Let's say you want to check how many website visitors reached the checkout page or the newsletter sign up confirmation page etc.... after they have been assisted by a live chat operator. This is one example to highlight the use of measuring events induced by Promptchat.

Using the aforementioned example, you can set various criterias for what to measure:

Events happening after:

- visitors arrive to the website (no intervention by Promptchat)

- visitor sends a message through the chatbox (no reply from the live chat operator is received)

- live chat operator sends a message to the visitor through the chatbox (no reply is received from the visitor)

- an automatic message is sent to the visitor using the auto-open feature (no reply is received from the visitor)

- two way chat happened between website visitor and chat operator

- two way chat initiated by the website visitor

- two way chat initiated by an operator assisted proactive chat invite

End Result: Reports can be created using the above criterias of actions that visitors have taken after such induced events.

In addition you can also check what type of chat categories delivered the results of the induced events. For example: In order to get 10 website visitors to reach the checkout page in your webstore, you can check how many of these visitors engaged in sales and how many in support category chat sessions. (ie: for instance you might find that all your buyers needed technical assistance before buying, or most of your buyers were proactively invited to chat with a chat operator - who than sold them through a chatbox or gave them a coupon etc....)

The induced events are managed by cookies placed in the visitors' browser. These are cookies valid indefinetly and Promptchat will confirm these events before making them avaiable in the reports.

Script box

The script box will display a snippet of code which you will need to insert into the source or your webpage where the measuring takes place.

IMPORTANT:

1) The induced event reporting feature will not work if you do not insert this code to its relevant place.

2) This code must be placed after the master script which should already be in your webpage(s). So, in case your master script is in the footer of your website, you wil need to move it in the header of your website and place this "induced event code" after it into the body of the site, or the footer.
